Job Description

 

The Opportunity

A newly created role, you will be responsible for Aurora Energy’s operational technical excellence. This will see you leading an astute team managing network safety, risk assurance, and operational improvement.

Continuous improvement and risk management is at the heart of this role. You’ll guide your team through identifying constraints and operational performance improvement opportunities, including internal processes and service provider performance. Innovative, you will be willing to challenge the status quo and provide solutions that enables the safe and reliable operation of the network.

Supporting the Network Operations Centre, your team will ensure that Aurora Energy’s operations processes and standards are in line with industry best practice, investigate ‘issues and incidents’ on the network, and provide engineering support to NOC including load studies.

This role presents a great opportunity to play a key role in ensuring the network is operated in a safe and reliable manner that best serves Aurora’s community.

Leveraging your strong influencing skills, you can achieve tangible results through building effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders at various levels, both internal and external. These will include (but not limited to) Asset Management and Planning, Network Control, Regulatory, Service Providers, Major Customers, Transpower and Industry Working Groups

 

About You

Having successfully led teams within electrical distribution or transmission and holding a relevant tertiary qualification, you will bring a wealth of industry knowledge across network operations, risk management and safety leadership.

Understanding operational excellence, you will also bring demonstrated experience related to:

  • Delivering process improvement, management & quality systems
  • Analytical, business case and financial acumen
  • Enabling and fostering a continuous improvement culture
  • Risk management and incident investigations
  • Applying relevant H&S and electrical legislation and regulations
