The Opportunity

We are seeking a visionary leader to join our team and drive strategic initiatives that will shape the future of our operations.

A newly created role, the Future Operations and Operational Technology Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring that Aurora Energy remains at the forefront of operational excellence in the distribution sector. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to anticipate and adapt to changes in network operational practices, enabling us to meet the needs of our stakeholders while aligning with our business goals. This includes the development and upkeep of an operational evolution strategy and roadmap.

In addition, you will be responsible for transitioning the strategic roadmap into an improvement program and you will take on a primary role in the implementation of projects.

You will provide strategic leadership to the Operations Team and the wider business and be actively involved in industry forums related to future networks.

This position is based in Dunedin - a relaxed city, surrounded by beautiful beaches, short commutes and has great character thanks to its stunning architecture.  
 

About You

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • An NZQF Level 7 Degree qualification or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • 10 years relevant electricity distribution or transmission network experience.
  • A sound knowledge of the operation of an HV and LV network with experience in network switching processes.
  • Management experience successfully leading a team.
  • A track record of establishing and leading continuous improvement projects in an operations environment.
